What is MCAS?
Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) is a chronic condition that affects all organ systems. It can cause severe, disabling symptoms every day, including potentially fatal anaphylaxis.
The common triggers for MCAS are infections, toxic exposures including mold exposure and EMFs, trauma, concussions, and stress.
MCAS often occurs with other chronic conditions like Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). Managing MCAS is challenging because many healthcare providers are unaware of it, and diagnostic tests can be unreliable. Treatments include antihistamines and mast cell stabilizers in the form of medications and supplements, along with avoiding triggers. Check out this post on managing MCAS.
What is beneficial frequency?
Beneficial frequency refers to natural forms of light, sound, and electromagnetic input that support the body’s biological rhythms and cellular health. These include wavelengths like morning sunlight that help regulate circadian rhythms, red and near-infrared light that support mitochondrial function and tissue repair, calming sound frequencies, and the Earth’s natural electromagnetic patterns, such as the Schumann resonance. Unlike artificial or non-native frequencies that can stress the nervous system, beneficial frequencies tend to align with the body’s innate signaling systems, helping regulate sleep, mood, immunity, and overall resilience.
Beneficial frequencies promote positive effects on the mind, body, or environment. It can refer to specific vibrations or sound waves that promote healing, well-being, or balance, including sound healing, in which particular frequencies (such as 432 Hz or 528 Hz) are believed to resonate with the body and its environment, supporting physical, emotional, or spiritual health.
Healthful Sound Frequencies
Healthful sound frequencies, like 432 Hz, a resonant, relaxing frequency, and 528 Hz, the love frequency, promote balance and healing, supporting ease and emotional release. Sound influences brainwaves and body rhythms, helping reduce stress and restore balance. Music, chanting, or natural sounds, such as birdsong, gently guide the body toward well-being. This post delves further into beneficial sound frequencies.
I became a certified sound healer in 2008 after experiencing the benefits of regularly using my voice to balance my chakras. My training showed me that vocal frequencies can change brain states, shift physiological patterns, and reframe the mind for transformation. Tools like singing bowls, tuning forks, and other instruments are used in sound healing, but the simplest method is with your voice—a tool you always have.
I am also a certified Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) provider, and I started using this nervous system intervention in 2023. The SSP uses filtered music to heal parts of the inner ear and repair trauma pathways. It is helpful for conditions such as PTSD, chronic illness, ADHD, and autism. This post discusses how nervous system dysregulation adds to chronic health problems and explores how the SSP heals concussions, trauma, and many other ailments.
Helpful Light Frequencies
Natural light offers powerful benefits because it regulates the body’s circadian rhythm, the internal clock that influences sleep, hormones, digestion, and mood. Morning sunlight helps synchronize this rhythm by signaling the brain that it’s time to wake up, boosting serotonin and cortisol in a healthy, balanced way. Throughout the day, exposure to natural light improves alertness, supports vitamin D production, and helps maintain stable energy levels. In the evening, the gradual dimming of natural light cues the body to produce melatonin, preparing you for restful sleep. Overall, consistent exposure to natural light strengthens sleep quality, mental health, immune function, and metabolic balance. This post covers why your circadian rhythm is so important for health.
Getting natural light
At sunrise, you begin to activate your circadian rhythm, and your body benefits from both blue and infrared light. When the sun reaches 10 degrees above the horizon, ultraviolet A (UVA) becomes present, so a significant portion of the day is spent under UVA exposure.
When UVA rays hit your skin, you can experience significant cardiovascular health benefits. UVA light causes blood vessels to dilate, a process known as vasodilation, bringing them closer to the skin’s surface. This effect occurs because your blood contains components called chromophores, which absorb light, such as melanin, hemoglobin, DNA, and other molecules, such as urocanic acid and amino acids, found in the skin and the retina of the eye. These chromophores are responsible for functions such as skin pigmentation, oxygen transport, and vision.
Your blood rises to the surface of the skin to absorb sunlight via your chromophores, allowing your body to trans port light through your circulatory system to the rest of your body. Additionally, when you experience vasodilation, you naturally lower your blood pressure. In the spring, summer, and fall, blood pressure tends to be well-regulated. However, in colder climates such as Michigan, Minnesota, or New York, where there’s limited opportunity to make vitamin D during the winter, blood pressure can be negatively affected and less stable. During the summer months, blood pressure is beautifully maintained because you spend time outdoors, receiving sunlight on your skin, which helps dilate blood vessels and naturally lower blood pressure.
One of the primary reasons sunlight benefits cardiovascular health is that it helps your body produce vitamin D and nitric oxide. Nitric oxide also dilates blood vessels, lowers blood pressure, and improves blood flow. This enhanced blood flow facilitates the delivery of nutrients to all of your active cells. This post delves into natural light signaling.
What is the Schumann Resonance?
The Schumann Resonance refers to a set of natural electromagnetic frequencies generated between the Earth’s surface and the ionosphere, with the primary frequency vibrating around 7.83 Hz. These resonances occur when lightning strikes excite the cavity surrounding the planet, creating a steady, low-frequency background “heartbeat” of the Earth. Some researchers and wellness practitioners believe that these frequencies help regulate human biological rhythms because the brain’s wave ranges—especially alpha and theta—overlap with the Schumann frequencies. Although the science is still developing, the Schumann Resonance is often described as a grounding, stabilizing natural frequency that may support calmness, focus, and a sense of connection to the environment. This post discusses how to take advantage of the Schumann Resonance using PEMF.
How beneficial frequency induces nervous system regulation
Beneficial frequencies help regulate the nervous system by aligning the body with natural patterns that promote calmness, balance, and healthy signaling. Exposure to grounding inputs—like morning sunlight, red and near-infrared light, soothing sound frequencies, or the Earth’s natural electromagnetic rhythms—supports the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for rest, digestion, and recovery. These frequencies can lower stress hormones, stabilize heart-rate variability, and promote balanced brainwave activity, shifting the body out of chronic fight-or-flight. By giving the nervous system predictable, biologically familiar cues, beneficial frequency strengthens resilience, reduces reactivity, and enhances the body’s ability to self-regulate in daily life. This post delves into nervous system dysregulation and covers how you can heal it with nervous system retraining.

Intention
Sacred Self-Healing relies on intention and frequency. Intention directs frequency to bring about healing. The universal formula for healing is:
Intention + Frequency = Healing.
In this expression, “frequency” refers to the specific healing modality being applied. Setting an intention is particularly beneficial when utilizing self-healing methods such as frequency and forgiveness. This post covers more information on the power of intention.
Beneficial Frequency
Beneficial frequency refers to natural vibrations that synchronize biological and Earth systems, to support overall harmony. For instance, visible red and blue light from the sun are beneficial frequencies because they regulate circadian rhythms. Likewise, Earth’s Schumann resonance is a naturally occurring frequency that aligns internal and external rhythms for health. This post discusses beneficial frequency in more depth.
Forgiveness
Forgiveness, like love, is seen as a high-frequency energetic state connected to compassion and gratitude. In contrast, emotions such as resentment and anger are thought to have lower frequencies, constricting rather than elevating well-being. Forgiveness helps elevate energy, promote emotional healing, and support physiological balance. Science hasn’t measured the frequency of forgiveness, but studies show that forgiveness can improve heart and brain patterns and help the body work more smoothly. Forgiveness brings balance, healing, and peace—both emotionally and physically. This post delves deeper into forgiveness.
The bucket theory
The bucket theory simplifies understanding symptom reactions with MCAS. Imagine your body as an empty bucket you don’t want to overflow. Reactions to various stimuli fill the histamine bucket at different rates, forming the total histamine level (how full your bucket is). More histamine means more symptoms. By managing triggers, reducing exposures, and taking medications and supplements, you can control your bucket’s level.
Know your typical symptom progression
Understanding your symptom progression during a flare is key to developing your rescue plan. This post discusses how to recognize symptom progression so you can be prepared to address them.

Sign up for the SSP!
I’ve found the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) to be the most helpful bottom-up healing strategy if your nervous system has been overloaded with toxic exposures, including mold or non-native EMFs, chronic infections, concussions, stress, or trauma. The SSP is a passive listening therapy that helps heal nervous system dysregulation. Many people with MCAS and other chronic conditions have nervous system dysregulation stemming from infections, toxic exposures, concussions, and trauma. The SSP is an easy-to-use app that lets you listen to specially filtered music for 30 minutes each day as part of a 5-hour cycle. Studies show the SSP has a profound effect on mental health and chronic conditions. Here’s a short podcast describing the Safe and Sound Protocol.
